Summary for the Senior Systems Engineer:

An SSA role is critical in maintaining and optimizing the bank's IT infrastructure and ensuring secure and efficient operation of our banking systems.

Qualifications for the Senior Systems Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Sr. Systems Administrator or in a similar role in the banking or finance industry.
• Strong comprehension of security frameworks, principles and best practices.
• Strong understanding of server management, system architecture, and network protocols.
• Strong understanding of virtualization platforms (i.e., Hyper-V, VMware).
• Knowledge of database administration, preferably with SQL Server
• Experience with cloud technologies and services.
• Strong understanding of networking, storage, and server architecture concepts.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
• Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in the banking industry.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools for system management.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtual environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong presentation skills

Specific Job Functions for the Senior Systems Engineer

• Manage and maintain the bank's IT systems and servers to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Monitor system performance, metrics and SLA's.
• Collaborate with IT staff to implement system upgrades and new technologies.
• Provide technical support and mentoring to junior staff.
• Manage documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
• Implement and enforce security protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Manage and maintain virtualization infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct regular system backups and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.
• Perform regular maintenance updates and patches.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to find ways to improve our systems and processes
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed
• Contribute and on various committees.
