SCS System Planning – Generation Procurement

- This position will be located at GPC Headquarters in Atlanta, GA.
- Hybrid work schedule (both in-office and telecommute); currently four (4) days in-office and one day telecommute.
- Relocation assistance may be provided if the successful candidate does not currently live within a reasonable commute distance.
- This position will require some travel (day and overnight, up to 10%) and the ability to work successfully in a remote/virtual environment with access to internet service.
JOB SUMMARY
The Renewable Development (“RD”) Analyst facilitates the development and ongoing management of Georgia Power’s Generation Procurement (“GP”) programs, which are designed to procure energy from renewable projects (Distributed Generation and Utility Scale) and capacity through All-Source and other capacity RFPs and through the Company’s PURPA QF program. The Analyst is responsible for supporting all three Generation Procurement teams ensuring each team is in compliance by tracking significant project and program milestones, as well as financials, in order to accurately record, report, and project according to the Commission approved guidelines. This role will provide reporting and compliance oversight for all Generation Procurement programs and RFPs and manage regulatory reporting and filing requirements as well as supporting IRP planning. The GP Team currently has a hybrid work schedule and works in the office (241 Ralph McGill) weekly on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement process improvements using tools and technology to work more efficiently
- Collaborate with internal partners and other members of the GP team to develop and maintain process flow diagrams, workflows, and PowerClerk (solar workflow and project tracking tool), and track financials, for the DG programs, ensuring the processes accurately reflect each program per the Commission-approved guidelines
- Manage all GP Standards of Conduct changes and revision filings to uphold the integrity of the RFP and meet regulatory requirements
- Manage existing customer agreements for Distributed C&I projects
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- 4-year accredited BS/BA Degree OR experience in Finance or Project Management preferred
- Experience:
- Strong computer skills and a minimum of 2 years’ experience using data analysis tools required
Preferred experiences:
- Mapping workflow and creating process improvements to current programs
- Developing management-level presentations, communications, and reports
- Supporting regulatory programs
- Prior work in one or more of the following areas: renewables, budgeting, pricing & rates, energy efficiency, finance, economic evaluations, marketing/sales, compliance, or regulatory programs
- Working with budgets including demonstrated proficiency with Georgia Power financial applications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to quickly comprehend technical information and data, identify key issues, and refine vague reporting requests into reporting solutions
- Excellent communications skills (verbal, written, and visual/graphical); ability to effectively develop and summarize reports for internal and external communication
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and prioritize work effectively with minimal supervision.

- Must have strong problem solving/analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues and prioritize work effectively
- Ability to make recommendations to management based on financial trends and projections
