Kuklinski George Holmes Chief of Police Mayor Notice of Police Examination (Civil Service) Police Officer Examination - Hamburg Borough, Berks County, PA Notice is hereby given that applications are being accepted for an entry level position of Police Officer by the Hamburg Borough Police Department and are now available at the Hamburg Borough Police Department, 61 North Third Street, Hamburg Borough Berks County, PA 19526. Applications can be sent via electronic communication and returned in the same manner. Applications can also be picked up at the Hamburg Police station during regular business hours, Monday through Friday (8:00am-4:30pm.) Act 120 Certification required (applicants that are in a current session of the academy may apply, however will not be appointed until after graduation date.) I) Must have reached his/her 21 birthday before the deadline for submitting completed applications. 2) Must be a resident of Pennsylvania. 3) Must possess a high school or equivalent diploma. 4) Must possess a valid Pennsylvania drivers license when at time of employment. 5) Must be a United States citizen. 6) Must be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer. 7) Must be able to speak, write and read the English language. 8) Candidates will be required to pass written test with a score of 70% or higher. 9) Candidates will be required to complete a physical agility test and successfully complete all facets of the physical fitness assessment. 10) Candidates that successfully complete the written and physical agility assessments will be scheduled for an oral review board. 11) The highest scoring candidates will be required to pass a physical examination, vision examination and psychological examination as established by MPOETC. 12) Veterans Preference-those candidates eligible for Veterans preference must provide a copy of 00-214 or Proof of Military Service at the time of application. 13) Candidates are required to undergo a full background investigation, to include a credit check.
