The Real Estate Assessor is looking for a dynamic candidate to lead and make a difference in the department.
Typical responsibilities of the Real Estate Appraisal Manager:
* Plans and assigns assessment activities including real estate property appraisals, permit processing, and analytical reviews.* The Real Estate Appraisal Manager supervises and trains subordinate staff to ensure accomplishment of goals and adherence to policies.* Evaluates assessment data for verification of information and quality control of appraisals.* Prepares assessments or reappraisals of complex properties to assist staff and maintain efficiency.* The Real Estate Appraisal Manager investigates and resolves problems including assisting taxpayers with inquiries and concerns, consulting with staff and superiors, and handling administrative appeals.* Administers personnel actions including interviewing, selecting, and evaluating employees.* Collects and analyzes appraisal data to develop related programs and make recommendations for improvements.* Assists staff with the preparation of assessment appeal documentation and appears before the Board of Equalization when necessary to defend assessments.* Performs related tasks as necessary such as advising superiors on matters of valuation in pending or active litigation.
