Who will you be working with?
The Warehouse/Distribution Supervisor will be working with the leadership team at the Distribution Center in Plainfield. This location has been open just over two years and has hit their stride…
How will you make a difference?
The 2nd shift Warehouse/Distribution Supervisor will be involved in all activities, including but not limited to, internal material transfers, facility and process design implementation and a seamless transition for our customers. This position will also have department responsibility and shared accountability for EHS, Material Handling Integrity, Inventory Controllership and Customer On-Time Delivery. This position requires working on-site as an essential function.
What will your typical day look like?
Hire and lead a team of hourly employees to support the business operation
Accomplish goals while focusing with utmost importance on Safety, maintaining high employee morale, and employee engagement
Develop, coordinate, lead and execute daily production plans
Drive daily schedule attainment to meet all internal and external customer commitments
Develop and implement a continuous improvement strategy to improve safety, service, and quality, while reducing cycle times, costs, and in-process inventory levels
Lead improvement project initiatives with a Lean focus
Effectively communicate and collaborate with cross functional leadership team
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Prior warehouse or manufacturing / leadership experience and training
Ability to build and lead a team through change
Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills
Six Sigma or equivalent quality training
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work without direct supervision
Strong understanding of business processes in a service environment
· Ability to manage contract resources
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
