Vice President, Fund Operations & Portfolio Support
Role
Devonshire Investors is a private investment firm affiliated with FMR LLC, the parent company of Fidelity Investments. Headquartered in Boston, Devonshire manages investments on behalf of FMR and its shareholders in businesses outside of the financial services industry.
Devonshire's portfolio consists of venture capital, later-stage private equity, and directly held real estate. Devonshire actively participates in its direct investments, while leveraging expertise across a global platform of holdings in the United States, Europe and Asia. The portfolio targets the telecommunications, technology, natural resources, and life sciences industries.
The VP Fund Operations & Portfolio Support will report to the CFO and will lead a team that is responsible for 3 main areas:
Fund Operations - Investment close support, Capital calls and distributions, LPA support, Cash control, reconciliation and forecasting
Portfolio Support - Investment valuation and NAV support, Audit & risk support, vendor support, natural resources investment support, tax support, new investment diligence/underwriting support
Investment & Fund Reporting - Fund-level performance reporting, financial statement review, Board reporting support
Expertise and Skills You Bring
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; MBA or CFA optional
Finance or operations experience with Private Equity/Venture Capital
Experience in or working with professionals in investment management and supporting functions (e.g., tax, legal, treasury, finance, compliance, risk, insurance), either in internal shared-services roles or through third party providers
Familiarity with valuing new and existing investments
Ability to work within a matrixed reporting environment
Experience with owning outcomes and driving solutions
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills that enable you to engage cross-functionally
Consistent track record of delivering results and demonstrating impact
Subject matter depth and operations process expertise
Strong attention to detail and good business perspective with strong written and presentation skills
Demonstrated urgency and ownership of executing on the day-to-day

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
