The Role

We are looking for a Vice President of Data Stewardship, who will be involved with teams across domains such as Customers, Accounts, Business Operations, Product & Services, Securities & Research, etc. and act a single point of control helping to drive data inventory, data quality and modernization efforts.
You will provide vision, strong leadership and strategic direction to ensure that solutions meet business priorities. Collaborate across business groups to identify, prioritize and implement multiple, complex business initiatives. Take ownership of results and adapt to a changing environment. Champion the adoption of innovative ideas that enable transformational change. Your responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive data stewardship strategy aligned with key business objectives and regulatory requirements. Including a shift from federated to a centralized operation.
- Developing a scalable process to define and carry out data inventory collection, definition, mapping efforts, support quality standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent data integrity and accuracy.
- Defining and implementing a definition of done for use by core data stewards, business data owners and data custodians across multiple applications and platforms.
- Collaborating with multi-functional teams including IT, data quality, data engineering, analytics, and business partners to identify and address data stewardship related issues.
- Establishing key performance indicators (KPI's) and metrics to measure and monitor data steward collection success over time.
- Acting as technical authority on data steward matters, providing guidance and support to executive leadership and other partners.
- Providing guidance and recommendations around data steward tools and solutions.
- Managing steward issues management reporting, workflow, tracking and metrics.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of dynamic experience in data management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role around data stewardship initiatives.
- Deep understanding of data steward concepts, methodologies, and standard processes, with hands-on experience technically implementing related tools (Collibra/Alation) and solutions.
- Proven, consistent track record of driving improvements and implementing stewardship initiatives in a complex organizational environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder managements skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical prowess and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root cause of data quality issues and develop effective and scalable remediation solutions.
- Relevant industry data certifications, financial services, brokerage experience a big plus.

At Fidelity, our goal is for most people to work flexibly in a way that balances both personal and business needs with time onsite and offsite through what we are calling "Dynamic Working." Most associates will have a hybrid schedule with a requirement to work onsite at a Fidelity work location for five consecutive business days per week, every other week. These requirements are subject to change at any time.
Reminder: Per the Dynamic Working Policy, approved exceptions will be reviewed annually, or when the associate accepts a new role, whichever comes first.
The base salary range for this position is $103,000-$174,000 per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
