Job Summary

This individual will oversee and manage the business development activities for the division, drive sales activities and financial growth by identifying sales, product development and marketing opportunities and define long-term organizational strategic goals, build key customer relationships, negotiate and close business deals.

Job Description

  • Prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling, advertising or other means of generating interest from potential clients. Identify potential clients and the decision makers within the client organization. Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging network. Research and build relationships with new clients.
  • Grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions, products and services to clients. Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
  • Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met. Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
  • Work with marketing staff to ensure that prerequisites (like prequalification or getting on a vendor list) are fulfilled within a timely manner.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales. Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Present business development training and mentoring to business developers and other internal staff.
  • Research and develop a thorough understanding of the company's people and capabilities.
  • Leverage the company's goal and purpose to enhance the company's performance.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree.

Relevant Work Experience

  • At least 3 years of sales or marketing experience. This includes: Networking, Closing Skills, Motivation for Sales, Prospecting Skills, Sales Planning, Identification of Customer Needs and Challenges, Territory Management, and Market Knowledge. Additional
  • Experience negotiating with outside vendors, including negotiating contracts, prices, resolving service issues and reconciling differences.
  • Experience collaborating with both internal resources and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.
  • Experience presenting to and coordinating senior level meetings, including preparation of agendas, documenting meeting minutes, sending out documents to attendees.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships within and between teams. - Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
  • Position requires travel up to 50% of the time for business purposes (within state, out of state, international).

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA.
  • Experience in healthcare industry.
