A day in the life:

  • Provide non-supervisory leadership.

  • Communicate with customers of diverse backgrounds and accurately answer complex and unique questions while providing timely and accurate information.

  • Conduct driver license examinations including behind-the-wheel tests, including large vehicles with multiple axels.

  • Lead in the correcting of testing errors for ATD testing machines.

  • Inspect documents and applications for completeness and accuracy.

  • Prepare daily reports.

  • Assign daily work schedules and workstations to employees.

  • Collaborate with and serve as the primary back-up for the transportation services office leader.

  • Perform physical examinations of vehicles in all weather conditions and sit or stand for long periods of time.

  • Travel to other offices in the region and attend training outside of the region.

Minimum qualifications:
Three years of public contact/customer service experience which involved dealing with the public in-person or by phone providing information about services and programs. At least one year of this experience must involve explaining and interpreting rules, programs and procedures and explaining requirements and gaining compliance.

AND

Experience or training using computers to retrieve and input data.

AND

Three months experience collecting money and making change.

Completion of an Associate's degree will substitute for one year of the public contact experience.

Special qualifications: Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.
