Job Description:
This role will serve as backup for the Director of Student Aid Operations during Berklee’s Workday Student Implementation Project. The incumbent should have expertise with PowerFAIDs, Colleague, and all of the Federal Student Aid Systems, as well as other financial aid systems. This person should have a deep understanding of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations. This person will be expected to manage operational efficiency while the current director is focused on implementation.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain operational calendar/cadence to ensure all functions stay on track
Monitor workload and output for Operations Team, with guidance from the Director of Student Aid Operations
Demonstrated organizational skill
Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations, as well as institutional financial aid policy
Under the guidance of the Director of Student Aid Operations, runs the scholarship awarding and notification processes for newly-admitted students
Runs batch awarding process as needed, ensuring correct packaging through a thorough Quality Control review
Deep knowledge of PowerFAIDs, Colleague, and federal/state aid systems
Assists with managing audit documentation as needed
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in a complex financial aid office. Deep understanding of federal and state financial aid regulations. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred. NASFAA credentials are also a plus, but not required.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Proficiency with PowerFAIDs, knowledge of Ellucian’s Colleague SIS system
Intermediate Excel skills
Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This role is largely remote, although there may be times when the incumbent will need to come to the office on an ad-hoc basis. The position requires working at a computer to do all functions.
