Summary:
Under general supervision, responsible for moderately complex engineering and/or analytical activities associated with one or more technical areas within the telecom function (such as, but not limited to, network design, engineering, implementation, or operations/user support). Provides the planning, design, acquisition and implementation of the health system's voice communications system. Evaluates company requirements to determine whether an internal or operating company system is more appropriate.
Responsibilities:
1. Develops recommendations for the implementation of voice, data, network, and audio visual system hardware and software. Provides support in the analysis, selection, integration/installation, documentation and maintenance of telecommunication systems or test equipment and devices.
2. Maintains required records and documentation and liaises with outside vendors to order equipment and services as required.
3. Performs diagnostic testing and troubleshooting on voice and data communications equipment, networks, and systems and assists in resolving system integration issues.
4. Provides support for the installation of various voice, data and network equipment and systems.
5. Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
6. Restores non-working lines and/or equipment to working condition and provide routine move/add/change support as assigned.
Other Information
Education Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications or related field (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Valid NC Driver's license
Professional Experience Requirements:
● If a Bachelor's degree: Four (4) years of experience in communications or electronics engineering.
● If an Associate's degree: Six (6) years of experience in communications or electronics engineering.
● If a High School diploma or GED: Eight (8) years of experience in communications or electronics engineering.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Excellent analytical and communication skills. Ability to work well in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Highly responsive to internal customers.
