GBL specializes in the areas of Systems and Software Engineering, Electronic Warfare, Network Centric Warfare, Modeling/ Simulation and Avionics Development.

As part of a dynamic team, GBL Engineers contribute to all aspects of the software development process, which includes requirements definition, design, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, and in-service support to various US and Foreign Military customers.  Work location is at GBL office in Camarillo, CA or Pt. Mugu.

The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, resilient networks to support DoD communication environments. This role involves close collaboration with Test and Evaluation programs and tactical units. This position requires extensive experience in network security, encryption technologies, tactical data link analysis, SDWAN, and cloud integration. The Network Engineer will work alongside the Chief Engineer to ensure seamless network operations, performance, and security.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy network architecture for DoD-to-DoD communication environments, addressing logistical challenges in CONUS and OCONUS environments.
  • Design resilient and scalable networks, ensuring compliance with security protocols and integrating advanced solutions like Juniper 128T SDWAN.
  • Implement and manage secure data transmission across DoD networks using NSA-approved encryption technologies, including KG-250XS HAIPE Encryptor and Type 1 devices.
  • Analyze tactical data links (e.g., Link-16), ensuring real-time accuracy and optimizing message context, network latency, and performance.
  • Support the integration and testing of networking solutions in collaboration with multiple Service branches and their tactical units, leveraging tools TRMC and capabilities.
  • Manage network configurations, maintain documentation, and contribute to updating network-related CONOPS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network components into existing systems and mentor junior team members.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong technical skills in IP-based networks (Cisco, Juniper) and hands-on experience with Juniper 128T SDWAN technology.
  • Proficiency in cloud infrastructure, specifically Azure Cloud and AWS Gov Cloud, and its integration with network systems.
  • Extensive experience in tactical data links, network security, and encryption technologies, including KG-250XS and KG-175 devices.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on network performance and optimization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, providing technical leadership when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering, preferably in a DoD or tactical communication environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Advanced certifications (CCNP, JNCIP, or CISSP) are preferred.
  • Proven experience in routing, switching, and securing networks, along with hands-on expertise in tactical data link analysis and encryption technologies.
  • Familiarity with DoD security protocols and network compliance requirements.
  • Experience with iPerf3 and other network performance testing tools, as well as Docker or containerized environments.

GBL is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.

Salary Range: $96,767 USD to $141,925 USD. Salary is based on current qualifications, related experience, and contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.
