Your Role:
This is an entry level position and is responsible for investigating, researching, and concluding subrogation recovery for CSAA automobile losses. In this role you will handle various types of automobile subrogation claims with a primary focus on lower complexity recoveries.
Under general direction, you will handle an inventory consisting of automotive damage, disputed liability and cross jurisdictional claims. The specialist will initiate and hear arbitration between companies on disputed liability and/or damage claims. Within their authority, the subrogation specialist will negotiate and conclude recovery settlements while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.
Your work:
• Answers and assists in all incoming subrogation calls. Subrogation assignments are based on level of knowledge. Primary daily assignments handled are Uninsured Motorist demands and carrier files. Establishes payment plan placeholder for all Uninsured Motorist payment plans. Responds to "Respond Only" arbitrations in addition to normal arbitrations that may need filing from backlogs. Has draft authority of $7,500 or less.
• Handles cross-insured losses, confirming recoveries in CAS and closing; limited total loss cases; double-dips; and non-complex to limited-complexity liability cases (e.g., two-car accident maximum).
• Participates in Forum Hearing monthly by hearing assigned minimum monthly cases/arbitrations.
• Handles overflow from the Subrogation Associates if necessary as well as other types of subrogation claims.
Required Experience, Education and Skills:
• 3+ years of automotive claims liability experience required.
• General or advanced knowledge of Department of Insurance regulations
• Advanced knowledge of Department of Insurance regulations and compliance requirements
• Strong customer service and negotiation skills.
• Proficient analytical, problem-solving, prioritization and organizational skills.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to type 50 wpm.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to take direction and act accordingly.
• Critical thinking and strong logic and reasoning skills.
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• BA/BS in Business, Insurance or related area, or equivalent experience preferred.

The national average hourly rate range for this position is $27.52- $30.58 per hour. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. 00
