DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS MISSION STATEMENTProvide the community with quality services, maintain and improve our public infrastructures and facilities, and support the preservation of Marin's unsurpassed beauty.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Marin County Flood Control & Water Conservation District is administered by staff of the Marin County Department of Public Works Water Resources Division. We report to 8 flood zone advisory boards made up of resident volunteers in various flood-prone areas of the County.

We are currently planning and designing the removal of Building Bridge No. 2 (BB2) from downtown San Anselmo. Originally constructed in the early 1900s, BB2's foundation spans San Anselmo Creek like a bridge. This structure obstructs the flow of the creek and contributes to flooding in both residential and commercial areas of downtown San Anselmo.

We are seeking a full-time Junior or Senior Civil Engineering Student Intern to support project management, design, and construction activities. The intern will assist with tasks such as processing consultant invoices, reviewing work products, attending meetings, preparing meeting minutes, assisting with fieldwork, and providing general project support.

This position will be based at the Historic Marin County Civic Center, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, as well as the project site as needed. The intern will work up to 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during the summer.
