Summary of Role In this full-time, hybrid position, you will work collaboratively with internal account teams and producers and guide a variety of clients in the development and support of impactful well-being and engagement initiatives. You will also enjoy collaborating with the rest of the Northeast Region Wellbeing & Engagement team and will work closely with the regional practice leader. The Wellbeing & Engagement Consultant will manage his/her own book of clients, and assist in coordination of projects and work plans led by the VP, Wellbeing & Engagement, in addition to internal education of and projects for account management teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a book of business delivering wellness strategy, consulting and project management, including bi-weekly/monthly calls and periodic in-person meetings.
- Provide strategy for clients in forming and developing their wellbeing program initiatives, goals, committees, and effective communication planning to promote client wellbeing programs.
- Analyze medical and Rx claims data and benefits/program utilization to identify population health management opportunities, recommending strategic steps and third-party vendor solutions.
- Evaluate carrier and vendor programs and develop strategies to build engagement to maximize all existing resources and services.
- Lead RFP’s for wellbeing solutions and programs, including vendor evaluation, comparison, demos, pricing negotiation, selection, implementation, and ongoing oversight to ensure deliverables are met.
- Leverage NFP’s size and reputation to negotiate competitive fees and solution options from carriers and vendors.
- In collaboration with the Wellbeing & Engagement team, develop and promote innovative resources and services that can be leveraged across clients and effectively utilized by the benefits team to support clients.
- Participate in cross-office functional teams to contribute to national wellbeing deliverables such as trainings, benchmarking, trend reports, etc.
- Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with both internal (NFP leadership, account teams, shared services, producers) and external (vendors, insurance carriers, clients, etc.) stakeholders.
- Stay informed on industry research, trends, vendors, and benchmarking, to bring innovative approaches to client-specific strategies
- Assist in running the day-to-day of NFP’s internal wellbeing program
- Additional duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities
- Knowledge of insurance, healthcare, and wellbeing and engagement industry and trends
- Passion for health and wellbeing; energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive
- Ability to foster positive working relationships internally and externally at all levels across organizations, especially with account management teams to support an integrated client strategy
- Excellent customer service, consulting and project management skills including a strong attention to detail
- Experience setting strategic plans for promoting workplace wellbeing
- Ability to analyze and summarize data including claims data, engagement data, biometric screening data, etc. Clinical knowledge not required.
- Proactive approach, and excellent follow through
- Ability to work independently and anticipate client and team needs
- Proven aptitude for quick and creative thinking within demanding deadlines
- Effective time management and decision-making skills, including strong aptitude for organization and prioritization
- Ability to express ideas clearly and diplomatically in both written and oral communications
- Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) as well as technology platforms including Teams, Zoom, etc.
- Corporate employee benefits experience is a plus.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Public Health, Health Promotion/Education, or related health field.
- 5-7 years’ experience in wellness program development, implementation, evaluation, marketing, and promotions
