As part of a dynamic team, GBL Engineers contribute to all aspects of the software development process, which includes requirements definition, design, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, and in-service support to various US and Foreign Military customers. Work location is at GBL office in Camarillo, CA.
Qualified applicants must be U.S. Citizens. Current active SECRET clearance is desired. Must be able to obtain an Interim Security clearance within first 90 days of employment.
The Algorithms Engineer leads the development and testing of scheduling optimization algorithms and predictive analysis, leveraging AI/ML techniques, particularly in cloud environments. They apply backend skills to integrate algorithms with application backends and relational databases like Postgres, collaborating with teams to design effective solutions. This role demands expertise in algorithm creation, AI/ML methodologies, backend integration, and relational databases, along with strong problem-solving and analytical skills for tackling complex scheduling and predictive analysis challenges.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and testing of non-preemptive scheduling optimization algorithms and predictive schedule planning.
- Develop and implement algorithms to optimize scheduling processes for efficiency and resource utilization.
- Utilize AI/ML techniques, preferably in a cloud environment, to enhance scheduling and predictive analysis capabilities.
- Apply backend skills to integrate algorithms with application backends and relational databases like Postgres.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design effective algorithmic solutions.
- Conduct research and stay updated with advancements in AI/ML techniques relevant to scheduling optimization and predictive analysis.
- Implement analytical cloud-based capabilities to support algorithmic functionalities and data processing.
Requirements:
- This Algorithms Engineer role requires expertise in algorithm development, AI/ML techniques, backend
- integration, and relational databases.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply advanced algorithms to solve complex scheduling and predictive analysis problems.
- Experience with cloud-based technologies and analytical capabilities is desirable for this role.
Skills:
- Strong background in algorithm creation and optimization techniques.
- Proficiency in AI/ML methodologies, preferably in cloud environments.
- Backend skills for integrating algorithms with application backends.
- Experience working with relational databases like Postgres for data storage and retrieval.
- Ability to apply AI/ML techniques to scheduling optimization and predictive analysis.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience of development work with algorithms
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences.

Salary Range: $67,275 USD to $145,200 USD. Salary is based on current qualifications, related experience, and contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.
