The Senior Director of Innovation will serve as Mosaic’s global leader for product innovation. Responsibilities include leading the internal product teams and developing relationships with external organizations to develop new product innovation for business growth. The ability to lead and influence people and a strategic vision are necessary for success in the role.

What will you do?

• Lead innovation teams for crop nutrition and biosciences. Build strategy for innovation and growth of new products for both commercial units. Supervise MOS activities and teams related to laboratory, greenhouse and field evaluation of new technologies. Partner with commercial teams to take technologies from development to commercialization.
• Responsible for decision making around global intellectual property. Responsible for weekly communication with outside counsel on establishment and maintenance of MOS IP. Serve on all IP committees as SME for technical development of IP.
• Responsible for the selection of, leadership guidance and management of external innovation parties including key university alliances.
• Represent MOS externally as a subject matter expert in area of innovation, routinely presenting at conferences and seminars. Externally seen as a thought leader in the industry and an expert that can make a compelling case to others as to why MOS is the best home for new product innovation.
• Collaborate cross functionally and effectively influence without authority to drive business decisions around innovation. Partner with other global R&D teams in the broader MOS to drive results. Establish and maintain forums for global communication of relevant activities. Partner with Commercial Leadership to drive business growth through development of new products and/or improvement of current products.

What do you need for this role?

• Master's degree required, major in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or Crop Science. Doctorate preferred
• 10+ years of experience in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or Crop Science
• Demonstrated experience leading R&D and Product Development teams and initiatives
• Experience in multi-function team leadership, experience with data analysis and interpretation
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
