Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Public Relations Specialist. An innovative and creative thinker, the Public Relations Specialist is instrumental in helping develop and execute the firm’s public and media relations strategies and day-to-day activities.
In this key role, you’ll work seamlessly with all levels of the firm and engage with key media contacts. With a strong understanding of the mainstream and legal media landscape, the Public Relations Specialist partners with the Director of Public Relations and other members of the public relations team to develop, advance, and elevate the firm’s external communications efforts across practice areas, industries, and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities include:
- Manages communications and cultivates media relationships with legal, trade, and business reporters in regional and national markets.
- Pitch and arrange media interviews with key spokespersons, vet inbound media opportunities, draft talking points, and monitor for media coverage.
- Partner closely with key stakeholders to understand their public relations needs and work closely with them on content development; work closely with the social media, website, and internal communications teams to ensure the full internal and external content life cycle.
- Identifies and drives forward strategy; develops and executes public relation plans.
- Support PR plans for select marketing campaigns as part of a broader campaign plan.
- Track media coverage, produce media reports, and share relevant media coverage with internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with the firm's external PR agencies on identifying and executing on media opportunities that align and amplify firm priorities.
Experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related marketing, communications or journalism field and 4 years of relevant professional experience in communications, media relations, or comparable discipline in a corporate setting.
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships internally and externally, including clients and media contacts, and experience excelling in highly matrixed work environments across business units and functional teams.
- Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with differing opinions and personalities.
- Strong planning and organizational skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to manage and complete projects and assignments, and effectively prioritize and balance competing demands.
- Ability to act with a high degree of integrity, discretion, responsiveness, and superior reasoning skills and sound business judgment.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and social media tools and resources.

$71,815.00 - $114,904.00
