Summary:
Supports the business and administrative operations for assigned inpatient physician services. Responsible for appropriate provider staffing levels and maintaining an accurate schedule; provides business insight to improve financial performance; maintains the department budget; builds positive provider culture; effectively communicates with physicians, support staff and leadership on a consistent basis; anticipates the future needs of the program and engages senior leaders in proactive action planning.
Responsibilities:
1. Assists with physician recruitment; manages interview process and all credentialing and onboarding activities for hired providers. Assists Medical Directors and APP Supervisor with provider evaluations.
2. Creates, manages and presents Epic reporting related to patient flow to ensure efficient workflow.
3. Use data to monitor revenue, expenses, and productivity levels; manages finance, provider shifts and patient census dashboards.
4. Collaborates with Program Directors for long term strategic goal planning, service line action plans and program development.
5. Promotes collaborative work teams and facilitate education, training and coaching among support staff to achieve quality patient care.
6. Build trust and credibility with physicians, staff, and key stakeholders, through timely communications and information sharing.
7. Manages all provider expenses including monitoring, tracking and approving to ensure alignment with budget.
8. Facilitates and leads Physician/Admin leadership meetings. Works directly with Medical Directors to establish/enhance departmental team meetings with providers.
9. Facilitates monthly/quarterly financial meetings with Directors.
10. Evaluates and reports on periodic basis patient and staff satisfaction, implementing programs and measures for maintenance and improvement. Addresses comments/complaints in a timely and effective manner.
11. Participates in budgetary planning, implementation, and monitoring of all financial aspects. Provides financial reports on monthly and as needed basis.
12. Ensures appropriate ordering, receiving and utilization of all.
13. Identifies trends and develops a plan of action to address patient, teammate, and provider satisfaction issues. Participates on teams to achieve desired results.
15. Liaise with other departments as needed.
16. Manages the Hospitalist Program administrative teams, including hiring, developing, and performance management. Coordinates the smooth operation of the day-to-day activities, provides leadership with regards to decision making and goal setting, and assures that quality, performance and production standards are maintained.
17. Manages physician compensation related to incentive metric tracking and reporting of Medical Director payments.
18. Manages scheduling model for providers to ensure proper patient care coverage. Manages payroll for all providers in assigned areas ensuring payroll accurately reflects shift worked and position. Coordinates provider PTO requests to ensure coverage of service lines.

- Requires three years of experience working directly with physician services
- Ability to read, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients and employees, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Spread sheet skills strongly preferred.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
