We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Scientist to build and lead our new Imaging & Data Sciences function within Quantitative Biosciences at our West Point, PA research facility. The successful candidate will be a deep expert in high content imaging, high-throughput flow cytometry, data analysis/visualization and new technology development, and have a proven track record in characterizing complex cellular systems, pharmacology, and virology. In this role you will:
Establish and lead a small team within Quantitative Biosciences to mature and apply our capabilities in imaging, flow cytometry, automation and data sciences.
Apply your extensive experience in these capabilities and drug discovery in general to directly support or influence therapeutic programs in infectious disease, immunology and neuroscience based in West Point or elsewhere as needed; to include direct assay development and custom data analysis workflows.
Participate in the yearly planning of strategic investments in laboratory instrumentation and new technologies.
Represent Quantitative Biosciences on capability and therapeutic area projects as needed, demonstrating leadership, and influence.
Use your experience and influence to participate in the growth and development of the global Quantitative Biosciences function, independently or part of global functional teams.
Monitor emerging technologies relevant to Imaging, automation and data sciences and assess their applicability to Quantitative Biosciences and drug discovery in general.
Manage the operations of the team, supervise, coach and mentor team members.
Integrate and interpret complex data and communicate science and strategy to stakeholders and management.
What you will need:
An advanced degree in biology, pharmacology, engineering or a related discipline, and 12+ years relevant experience for a BS degree, 8+ years relevant experience for a Masters degree, or 6+ years relevant experience for a Ph.D.
A proven track record of developing and applying high content imaging, flow cytometry, automation, data analysis and data visualization in an industry setting.
Experience with High content imagers such as the Opera Phenix/Operetta, the ImageXpress and the HT.ai, and data analysis packages such as Signals Image Artist, Cell Profiler, INcarta and Cellomics preferred.
A robust understanding of drug discovery and clinical development.
An excellent track record of providing mentorship and guidance to direct reports and peers.
Working knowledge of infectious diseases, neuroscience and immunology.
The ability to communicate effectively with and relate to a broad range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, peers, direct reports, partner organizations and external collaborators.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model
