Co-ops are highly valued, fully contributing members of our team and receive significant responsibility and work with many cross functional teams (including Consulting, Regional and Local Finance, Functional Teams, BCG X, and numerous senior leadership members) within BCG. Through a combination of valuable hands-on work experience, training, and mentoring, our co-ops experience rapid professional growth.
Our co-ops will gain exposure to and help support several high visibility topics across the team to ensure we are supporting our priority clients and driving commercial efforts. This may include (among other responsibilities) managing investment approvals, conducting quantitative analysis, taking ownership of back-end processes by teaming with finance, codifying best practices, contributing to ad hoc special projects, and improving internal processes.
- An outstanding communicator who engenders trust: Co-ops will work day to day with very senior leadership and as such need to display strong professionalism and clear and concise email communications
- Being a collaborative team player: Co-ops will work across the team and with other functions, completing ad hoc deliverables in a timely manner, lead independent sub-projects, and help to lean in on other Client Team topics as necessary
- Applying strong analytical skills: Co-ops will apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills, hypothesis-driven thinking, judgement, and creativity to problem-solve and provide senior leadership with investment support and analysis
- Staying organized: Our team touches many pieces of the business that will require co-ops to be flexible and efficiently multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn new topics and skills: with a combination of intellectual curiosity, desire for professional growth, and receptiveness to feedback
- Preferably a sophomore or above with strong academic performance
- Good problem solving and analytical skills with an attention to detail
- Proficient in Excel; experience with PowerPoint, Slack, Outlook, Business Objects, Tableau, or Alteryx a plus
- Proactive, resourceful, self-starter who takes initiative
- Prior work/co-op experience a plus
- Must be currently enrolled in the Northeastern University Co-op program
- Must be able to work full-time (40 hours/week) throughout the minimum duration of the co-op cycle (January - June)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
