Innova Solutions is immediately hiring a Manufacturing Technician.

Position type: Full-time Contract (9/80 Schedule)
Duration: 7 months
Location: Goleta, CA

As Manufacturing Technician, you will:

• Performs testing and diagnosis of malfunctions on hybrids, circuit boards, major systems, units and boxes.
• Application of advanced electronic theory and use of schematics, detailed specifications and complex test procedures, with appropriate test equipment.
• Performs final test and/or diagnosis of malfunction of any electronic system. Highly developed support individual contributor. May act as a mentor to lower level peers and provide guidance on tasks.
• Makes recommendations for solutions. Works on assignments requiring judgment and initiative.
• Assist in mechanical and electrical engineering qualification designs, work and re-work instructions, engineering tooling design, engineering testing with testing instruments and equipment, support sea operations by mobilizing and de-mobilizing sensor systems.
• Tasks require fiber optic splicing, Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) testing, potting mechanical and electronic components, Hi-Pot testing, hydrostatic-pressure testing, soldering of electrical and electronic assemblies
• Experience in electro-optic cable terminations and jointing, sub-surface communications cable management and electronics assembly.
• Perform coarse and fine adjustments requiring the use of hand tools, precision measuring devices and other specialized equipment including, but not limited to vacuum equipment, digital indicators, optical microscopes, height gages, Vernier gages, micrometers, and electronic testing fixtures
• Seeking an individual contributor to provide skilled support on the assembly of potting, electro-mechanical and fiber optic assemblies.
• Handle, inspect, clean, and prepare delicate and sensitive optical components and assemblies
• Understand the function of and use a broad range of electrical/electronic and mechanical parts and components such as fiber optics, solder, wire, resistors, diodes, capacitors, relays, transformers, coils, switches, PC boards, epoxies, crimping etc.
• Read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Work with adhesives, precision assembly tools, and different types of equipment such as fusion splicers, high precision fiber cleavers, polishing machines, and test tools.

This is a 7 Month full time Contract opportunity.

Timings: 7am to 4pm

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience with sub-surface communication optical cable, potting, fiber optics, electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Certified IPC Specialist to IPC J-STD-001 standards preferred.
• Individual should possess strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
• Two-year post-Secondary/Associates degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, Some college in a technical discipline, Technical School Training, High School Diploma and equivalent work experience required with a minimum of 8 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
• Develop creative yet practical solutions to technical challenges.
• Demonstrates experience and ability to interpret schematic diagrams & engineering drawings.
• Willing to travel 25% of the calendar year.

Pay Range*: $25 - 33 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
