Creates an environment that is safe and risk-free that provides radiation protection according to the standards established by local, state, and federal requirements. Maintains oversight for quality control for equipment (some imaging departments may require cross-functional duties in diagnostic imaging). Performs basic clerical duties such as patient registration and appointment scheduling may be required at some sites. Participates in patient education and community outreach activities. Job DutiesPerforms quality mammographic images utilizing ACR positioning guidelines along with evaluating technical quality of images. Makes necessary adjustments in positioning and/or technical factors to optimize images for all breast imaging studies.Confirms patient identification, reviews imaging requests and confirms study with patient. Explains procedures and provides education to patients. Interacts professionally as an effective team member, promoting a positive work environmentComplies with hospital and department policies and procedures. Completes assigned education modules.
