Burr & Forman LLP has an immediate opening for a full-time legal practice assistant in the Bluffton, SC or Charleston, SC office. KEY CONTRIBUTIONS
· Prepare, edit, and proof correspondence and other similar documents
· Perform complex administrative duties requiring knowledge of legal terminology and legal processes
· Open and maintain client files and organization documents
· Request closing title work and HOA docs
· Schedule and coordinate logistics for meetings, travel and closings
· Maintain calendars including transaction deadlines
· Enter billable time and edit time and pre-bills as needed
· Process expense reimbursements
· Answer incoming calls; prepare documents for shipment; and distribute mail
· Respond to inquiries for information
· Scan and prepare files for offsite storage
· Assist with business development and marketing activities
· Backup front desk receptionist
· Other responsibilities as needed
THE ESSENTIALS
· Prior office/secretarial experience
· Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education, training and
cexperience
· Proficient with Microsoft Word and ability to type 50 wpm
· Highly organized, detail-orientated, proactive with a desire to take
ownership as a contributing member of the team
· Balance competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced
environment, exercising patience and professionalism during stressful
situations.
· Ability to work independently and with a team.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Experience with Qualia and Simplifile helpful
