Job Title: L2 Cisco Network Engineer

Location: East Providence, Rhode Island

Employment Type: 6-Month Contract (with potential for extension and conversion to Full-Time Employment)

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, on-site

Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced L2 Cisco Network Engineer to join our team in East Providence, Rhode Island. This role will involve hands-on work with Cisco Meraki solutions, Dell Servers, and providing helpdesk support to PC end users. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in routing, switching, and troubleshooting within network environments. Cisco certifications are a plus but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

Working knowledge of configuring, monitoring, and maintaining Cisco Meraki solutions and network devices.
Manage and troubleshoot Dell Servers and associated hardware.
Provide technical support and helpdesk assistance to PC end users, resolving issues related to connectivity, hardware, and software.
Working knowledge of performing network routing and switching tasks, including configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers and switches.
Conduct routine network performance assessments and optimizations.
Collaborate with other IT professionals and Vendors to ensure network stability and performance.
Document network configurations, procedures, and updates.
Assist with network upgrades and migrations as needed.
Participate in on-call support rotation if required.
Experience working in Virtual Environments – Managing VMs, Setting up new VMs. (Windows, Linux-Red Hat)

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience working in a CISCO Network environment. (Helpdesk support, virtual environment)
Proven experience as a Network Engineer with a strong focus on Cisco Meraki and Dell Servers.
Solid understanding of network routing, switching, and troubleshooting.
Experience in providing helpdesk support to end users, including PC hardware and software issues.
Hands-on experience with Cisco network devices and configurations. (Racking, stacking, cabling, etc.)
Familiarity with network monitoring tools and techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Cisco certification like CCNP prefered.
Other Vendor Certifications a plus but not required.
Experience with network security practices and solutions.
Familiarity with additional network management tools and platforms.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have reliable transportation

Additional Information:

This position requires on-site presence in East Providence, Rhode Island, Monday through Friday.
The initial contract duration is 6 months, with the potential for extension and conversion to a full-time role based on performance and business needs.
