Position Summary

Join the Dynamic World of Project Management Excellence at Bridgewater State University! The Staff Assistant, IT Project Manager, is responsible for supporting institution-wide technology projects. The Project Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating all related activities for Information Technology projects that will vary in size, scope, and complexity. The Project Manager will develop and implement projects while adhering to the Bridgewater State University IT Project Management Methodology.

Supervision Received: Works under the direct supervision of the Executive Director of IT Project and Service Management Office. Supervision Exercised: May exercise supervision over support staff, graduate interns, professional apprentices and other students assigned to the area.
This position is eligible for remote work in compliance with University policy.
This is an APA position and is subject to the terms of that union agreement.

Essential Duties

1. Lead PMO projects as assigned utilizing the organizational project management methodology and processes2. Perform initial feasibility study and requirements discovery prior to the formation of a project3. Develop and maintain effective and efficient communication with the project sponsor(s) and project team4. Ensure that project objectives, scope, cost, and expected deliverables of each project are understood and delivered5. Ensure the project team members understand and complete their specific role, responsibilities, and tasks6. Assemble and lead cross-functional project teams to effectively address project requirements according to the projects charter, schedule, and approved budget with a commitment towards racial equity, diversity, and inclusion7. Responsible for developing project charters, schedules, and budgets for approval, oversight, and delivery8. Document and maintain project work plans, meetings, decisions, change orders, deliverables, progress reports, schedules and other project artifacts9. Facilitate communication of project status, budget, costs, issues, and related information to project team leader(s), project sponsor(s), steering committee(s), affected business unit(s), and project team members10. Perform project closeout review to ensure projects meet expectations and identify areas for improvement11. Assist project sponsors in defining project scope, objectives, cost, and timeline12. Required Qualifications

1. Bachelors Degree2. Three years of experience with a focus on managing projects3. General knowledge of information technology and management information systems4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse team environment5. Strong written and oral communication skills to interact effectively with staff, clients, and vendor staff

Preferred Qualifications

1. Master's Degree2. Project management experience in a Higher Education environment3. Experience with TeamDynamix Project and Portfolio Management Solution or similar systems.4. Professional development education in social justice and equity topics5. Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.6. ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certification or demonstrated knowledge of ITIL best practices in IT service management.
