IRS Hiring Event for Entry-Level Clerical Job Opportunities, November 13 and 14, 2024
Kansas City, MO
Oct 24, 2024
Full-time
Full Job Description

Attention job seeker, the IRS would like a word with you, and that is a good thing! We are hiring! Attend our Direct Hire Hiring Event in Kansas City, MO, on Wednesday, November 13, or Thursday, November 14, 2024, and be considered for our General Clerk and Clerk/Technician (Tax Examining) employment opportunities at our IRS Kansas City, MO Service Center. Clerks and Tax Examiners perform a variety of administrative duties associated with tax administration.

If you have one year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other similar general work experience (paid or unpaid) or college-level education, which may be substituted for the experience requirements, you may qualify. These entry-level positions do not require you to have prior Federal employment or tax experience.

At our Kansas City, MO, In-person Hiring Event, we will be offering full-time, seasonal positions on day and swing shifts. Full-time, seasonal positions are typically offered in a six-to-eight-month season and may be extended. As a seasonal employee, if you are released during the off-season, IRS will call you back at the start of each new season, so you do not need to reapply.

Join us in Kansas City, MO, on Wednesday, November 13, or Thursday, November 14, 2024!

During this event, we will be making tentative on-the-spot job offers to pre-qualified attendees. If our offer is accepted, you will be able to complete several pre-employment steps during the event. The entire process can take about two to three hours to complete, so please plan accordingly.

How to Apply:

Click on the Apply button on this site for complete details and to register for the event. You’ll be taken to the official event registration page.

Follow the instructions on that page, which will require you to:

1. Register to attend, AND

2. Apply to the exclusive Kansas City-only announcement (available from a link on the registration page) by 11:59 p.m. ET, Sunday, November 10. Before the in-person Kansas City hiring event, we will pre-qualify you, and you'll be given expedited consideration at the hiring event. This is a required step. Don't delay, apply today! You will be able to select the day (November 13 or 14) you would like to attend when you access the registration page.

Benefits: IRS employees receive the full package of federal employment benefits that include health and insurance plans, a generous annual and sick leave program, federal retirement, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, which is a supplemental retirement plan similar to a traditional 401(k).

Note: Space is limited. You must register for an appointment and apply to the exclusive Kansas City-only announcement BEFORE the event. Registrants who apply to this exclusive announcement will be given priority and expedited consideration over all others. Due to the high demand for these positions, those who do not apply to the exclusive announcement prior to the event will be required to apply before receiving any consideration. The IRS will not consider walk-ins (based on availability) before 12 p.m.

If you do not apply to the exclusive Kansas City-only announcement before the event, remember to bring your resume and supporting education documents (if using to qualify instead of experience). However, registrants who apply in advance will be given priority consideration.

For the IRS to consider you for employment, you must be a U.S. citizen (native-born or naturalized).
