Summary:
Serves as point of contact for all internal communications (all newsletters, all staff emails, intranet, digital and print boards, etc.). In this role, the person will develop and implement strategies and internal communications plans to support the goals of UNC Health Nash, while strengthening communication between the organization and employees, as well as department leaders and their units. Plans, directs, and implements communications initiatives/assignments as delegated and assigned by the Manager of Marketing and Communications. Coordinates communications whether verbal, written or digital between UNC Health Nash and its employees, affiliates, etc. as delegated and assigned.
Responsibilities:
1. Serves as project manager for all internal communications needs and other duties as assigned. Develops internal communications (including staff newsletters and emails) by working closely with the Manager, HR Communications Specialist and key internal leaders to identify, develop, communicate and distribute needed items.
2. Provides writing support for a variety of internal communications projects, as well as specific marketing/communications campaigns as needed.
3. Meets with department leaders to determine communications needs in order to identify and provide the appropriate support.
4. Actively contributes to Marketing/Communications projects and special programs while supporting departmental and cross-departmental initiatives as needed.
5. Manages all internal communications requests (intranet assistance, writing assistance, flyers, PowerPoint presentations, digital forms, communication plans, etc.) – includes managing request form responses and managing front lobby and elevator flyers.
6. Posts all internal communications items to the intranet as news items, serves as intranet manager and manages communications boards (digital and print) throughout the campus.
7. Coordinates Employee Town Halls (promotion, event logistics, day of event management) and other internal events as needed.
8. Partners with Manager to support award applications (gathering information, writing, formatting of application packets, proofing/editing, etc.).
9. Offers new and creative ideas to improve internal communication to better engage with employees and leaders on important news and information in a variety of formats.

Education Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline (marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, etc.).
License/Certification Requirements:
· None
Professional Experience Requirements:
· 2- 3 years of experience in communications, marketing, advertising, writing or related field
· Knowledge of effective design, strong writing skills, excellent verbal communication, exceptional project management skills, and experience with internal communications/newsletters/all staff communications (or similar items) are required
· Highly organized, deadline and detail oriented, has a strong commitment to customer service, skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.), Canva and Adobe programs
· Graphic Design skills and intranet management (particularly SharePoint) are a plus
