How will you make a difference?
The HVAC, Building and Grounds Leader for the Grove City Diesel Engine Remanufacturing facility will maintain all property of a 240,000 sq ft facility including electrical, HVAC and all safety and production related utilities. You will use your experience and expertise to solve problems, guide process adherence, develop methods to execute business objectives. This position requires working on-site as an essential function.
What will your typical day look like?
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform all preventative maintenance, repairs, and regulatory inspections on HVAC systems.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies as needed.
- Order parts & materials.
- Participate in various committee’s (spill and safety).
- Request quotes from contractors and continue working with contractors to ensure jobs are completed according to contract and in a safe and timely manner.
- May be required to perform safety inspections, dry cycle machines, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and electrical diagnosis.
- Must have working knowledge of air compressors, air dryers, truck docks, security and fire systems, concrete, asphalt, roofing, ventilation units, boilers, steam heating, electrical substations, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Must be familiar with wastewater treatment/shipments (hazardous and non-hazardous).
- Effectively interact and communicate with operators where work has been assigned.
- Perform all EHS weekly inspections, identify issues and close items as needed.
- Maintain control of lawn, service walkways and lots in the winter.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal direction and also be able to work as a team member implementing team concepts and solutions.
- Responsible for the quality of work performed, from prescribed methods, quality and planning instructions in oral and/or written form.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
What do we want to know about you?
Minimum Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be certified to do HVAC work (EPA 608 certified) which will include repair of process and non-process air conditioning, chillers, freezers, and cryogenic pumps.
- Must be willing to operate overhead cranes and industrial trucks.
- Must be able to pass background check, drug screen, and meet fitness for duty physical requirements.
Desired Characteristics:
- Working knowledge of Lock Out, Tag Out and confined entry processes.
- Working knowledge of chillers on 3 and 4 axis machining centers.
- Working knowledge of basic carpentry and plumbing.
- Familiar with various other types of controls.
- Previous buildings and grounds experience.
What about the physical demands of the job?
- Walking, climbing, stooping, bending.
- Wearing all required personal protective gear such as: steel toe boots, ear plugs, eye protection, and fall protection where required.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds.
- Regularly required to climb ladders, and other equipment.
- Required occasionally to go into confined spaces.
- Required to operate heavy machinery, including but not limited to forklifts and cranes.
You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
The salary range for this role is between $60,000 - $100,000. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
