General Description of the Job Class
The Financial Analyst II, Capital Analysis, is responsible for administering FP&A's capital planning and capital tracking software, overseeing the approval routing process and project creation, project closure activities, capital pool reporting, and related customer support. The Financial Analyst II may also participate in the review and revision of simple business plans and associated financial analyses.
Duties and Responsibilities of this Level
- Act as database administrator for FP&A's capital planning and capital tracking software. This includes assisting with product design and implementation, working with the vendor for product support, updating and maintaining user access and security parameters, and providing customer service and technical support to end-users.
- Facilitate the capital project approval routing process including assisting end-users with project initiation, ensuring that projects have all necessary approvals and required documentation, and moving projects through the process up to and including the creation and communication of project funding codes.
- Oversee the project closure process including reporting on old or inactive projects, communicating with entity finance personnel regarding project status, ensuring projects are eligible for closure, closing/deactivating projects across all reporting platforms.
- Create and distribute capital pool status reports monthly and/or as requested and other financial analyses and capital-related reports on an ad-hoc basis. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- May also be asked to review simple business plans and associated financial analyses, including working with entity finance personnel to resolve outstanding questions and issues, and make updates as necessary.
Required Qualifications at this Level
Education
Work requires a Bachelor's degree in related field.
Experience
Work requires a minimum of four years of experience in finance, accounting, auditing, or a field directly related to specialized area of assignment. Healthcare experience is a plus.

Requires advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Must also be proficient with PowerPoint and Word. Workflow automation experience is highly desired. Must be an organized, detail-oriented, analytical thinker with excellent written English and customer service skills.
