Site Environmental Specialist

The Environmental Specialist prepares and submits environmental reports, permit applications, and correspondence to regulatory agencies for an assigned phosphates facility(s). Provides environmental support to facility to assure compliance with regulatory and corporate EHS requirements. Responsible for environmental assessments, permitting and environmental education for the facility. Serves as a point of contact between Mosaic and regulatory agencies, contractors, and operations; responds to “on call” environmental issues. Primary responsibility for collection of environmental samples for compliance determination. Coordinates and directs contractors on special sampling and projects.
What you’ll do:
Prepare and submit regulatory reports.
Prepare permit applications and permit renewals.
Respond to regulatory agencies regarding environmental matters.
Coordinate and conduct facility environmental assessments and sampling.
Identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
Coordinate environmental improvement projects with plant operations, contractors, and supervisor.
Conduct environmental technical training to operations.
Coordinate facility water and air emissions sampling and inspections.
Manage environmental monitoring databases for water & air quality issues.
Serve as “on-call” environmental coordinator, responding to a wide range of issues including spill reporting, waste management, wastewater, storm water, drinking water, air emissions and agency inspections.
Prepare and manage departmental budgets.
What you’ll need:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science.
3+ years of Environmental Health and Safety experience
Operations experience
3+ years of Industrial Manufacturing experience
Entry level Environmental Law experience
1+ years of Microsoft Office Suite experience

Canada Drinking Water Testing Certificate
United States of America Drinking Water Testing Certificate
Canada Waste Water Testing Certificate
United States of America Waste Water Testing Certificate
Visible Emissions evaluator certification
40-hour radiation safety officer certification
