Environmental Aide
Summary: To perform the routine cleaning and general care of the various components of and areas around the Museum in order to maintain a clean and aesthetically pleasing facility for staff and guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform daily cleaning of offices and public areas, including restrooms, corridors, conference rooms, break rooms/kitchenettes: work will include cleaning walls, open areas of desks/shelves/ledges, doors, exteriors of cabinets-refrigerators-microwaves, fixtures (toilets and sinks), disposal of trash and cleaning/relining trash containers; dust/damp mop or vacuum floors/baseboards/corners/edges; restocking supplies.
• Daily cleaning inside the Museum galleries, limited to the following: restrooms, entrances, stairwells, offices, carpeted galleries (vacuum only), window ledges, window blinds, public furniture, closets, coat room and other assigned areas as required.
• Assist with the movement of equipment or materials during set up and break down of events and ensuring that events are set up in a timely manner.
• The above statements of this job description provide the general duties and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position. Employees may be assigned other duties as essential functions may change.
Qualifications: Must understand the safe and effective methods of cleaning all required areas within the Museum. Must be able to regularly lift as much as 50 pounds and work scheduled overtime, weekends and evenings as needed. Some ladder work (up to 6 feet) may be required. Excellent customer service skills required. Attention to detail is imperative. Considerable walking, pushing and bending are necessary for the job. Prefer Driver’s License valid in the state of Missouri.
Additional Details:
Minimum of Range: $18.03/hour
Status: Regular full-time (40 hours/week) plus overtime
Benefits-eligible on first day of employment.
