RYAM’s Fernandina mill is one the leading global manufacturers of high purity cellulose, a natural polymer commonly found in cell phones, computer screens, filters, food, and pharmaceuticals. It was constructed in 1937 near downtown Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island, Florida. The plant produces 155,000 metric tons of softwood cellulose specialties per year and employs more than 300 people.
How you’ll shape the future of the engineering group:
Rayonier Advanced Materials “RYAM” is seeking outstanding college students in Chemical and Mechanical Engineering degree programs to join our team as Interns for Spring, Summer, or Fall 2025 in Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Project Engineering and Maintenance/Reliability Engineering at our Performance Fibers manufacturing facilities in Fernandina Beach, Florida.
With RYAM, you will work on meaningful, real-world projects that will expand your knowledge and stretch your capabilities. You will have the ability to focus on process optimization, quality improvement, cost reduction, and environmental performance, while learning the manufacturing process and building technical, analytical, and project management skills.
You’ll be someone who can bring:
- Currently enrolled in college
- Majoring in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- Have a 3.0 GPA or better
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Previous internship experience is preferred, but not required.
