Summary:
The EMS Community Paramedic provides primary care and/or advanced life support, including medical evaluation, treatment, and stabilization of the chronically ill and injured with the goal of reducing morbidity and avoidable rehospitalizations for our community members.
Responsibilities:
The Community Paramedic supports existing health services; provides integrated health services in partnership with other health professionals; extends access to health services delivery in underserved and general populations, including primary care, public health, disease management, prevention and wellness, mental health, and dental health; and performs other duties as required. Daily operations include in-home, in-person visits, assessments, and other interventions as needed. Successful candidates will be team oriented, collaborative in their approach to healthcare, and community minded.
Other information:
- High school graduate or GED.
- Current certification as a Paramedic with the NC Office of Emergency Medical Services.
- 2 years of Paramedic experience is required.
- Current BCLS certification.
- ACLS certification is required within 1 year of hire and must be kept current.
- CPI certification is required within 1 year of hire and must be kept current.
- ASLS certification is required within 1 year of hire and must be kept current.
- NIHSS certification.
- Supervisory/management development course work, training, or experience preferred.
