The position requires full business operations management skills. This includes the maintenance, repair, and operation of District utility systems, as well as supervising office and technical staff, while understanding and maintaining an annual budget. Responsible for knowledge and compliance with federal, state, and local codes and regulations governing rural water supply Effectively assigns, assists, communicates, supervises, and evaluates work performed by all district staff, contractors, and vendors Provides cost estimates, locates vendors, prepares annual budget, tracks expenses, prepares reports, schedules staff Oversees maintenance of equipment, assets, and facilities Prioritizes and oversees district projects, determines supplies, legal easement concerns, and equipment required Helps district engineer develop plans and specifications for construction and renovation projects while maintaining annual budget guidelines Participates in and presents information in after-hours Board Meetings Required: At least 3 years of commercial mechanical, electrical, or plumbing work with staffing/operations supervisory experience; with Associate Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred Water certification DNR Class DS-2 license (or ability to obtain) Experience with engineered drawings, GPS locates, Diamond Maps or similar systems Must have very good communication and time management skills Occasional work/lifting exerting up to 100lbs., and up to 50lbs. frequently The position offers generous compensation to include full benefits, holidays, and nice work environment.
