A nonprofit environmental conservation organization is looking for a Director of Information Systems and Security to develop vision and lead transformation of infrastructure and operations function.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional team leadership and mentorship skills that helps shape the organization and contributes to the overall company culture and mission by cross-collaborating with other departments and inspiring and guiding team members.
This is a full-time, direct hire position and it is hybrid (3 days/week onsite) in Monterey, CA.
The ideal Director of Information Systems and Security should have:
- Minimum or 7-10+ years of progressive experience in managing teams and IT operations management, with a track record of success in senior IT roles
- Minimum 3+ years as a Director
- Deep understanding of on-premise and public cloud IT infrastructure, systems, and operations
- Strong working knowledge of enterprise platforms and products including content management systems for websites and intranet, ecommerce and customer relationship management, apps and interactive experience, employee service and collaboration tools)
- Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) frameworks and best practices
- BONUS: Experience with museums, aquariums, zoos, hospitals, or higher education
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing 6-7 direct reports and develop the maturity of the IT Operations team to improve efficiency, deliver new innovation, and increase collaboration with other IT and business areas
- Strengthen cybersecurity measures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities. Oversee the implementation of advanced security measures to protect data and secure the critical systems that support operations
- Direct the vendor/sourcing strategy for enterprise systems (e.g. hardware, software and services) and provide oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management.
- Authorize and oversee the organization's IT infrastructure and services, including servers, networks, and data centers (e.g. deployment, monitoring, reliability, availability and scalability).
- Oversee IT service management, including incident management, problem management, and change management.
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
