We are currently seeking a dynamic leader with in-depth experience with mainframe modernization and financial cores. Experience with public cloud architecture and engineering, specifically AWS and GCP, would be ideal. This individual will challenge mainframe modernization initiatives across our lines of businesses, providing expert advice on design, standards, and best practices via a risk lens. The ideal candidate for this role will have a deep understanding of advanced practices around mainframe migration, financial core processes and architectures, and public cloud. Alongside this the individual will have the ability to make and influence risk-based decisions This is an individual contributor role that will develop relationships and influence engineering and risk teams across Capital One's lines of businesses to provide effective oversight.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide oversight and challenge to the technology aspects of our core modernization strategy, tooling, processes, and requirements
Influence Capital One's core modernization decisions, representing our corporate risk appetite
Work closely with enterprise and solutions architects, product managers, engineers, and SRE teams to understand our current core technologies, processes and approaches and influence change
Advise on appropriate policies and standards to guide our core modernization efforts
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or military experience
At least 5 years experience with financial core processes or technologies
At least 7 years experience in enterprise IT
Preferred Qualifications:
Cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional and GCP Professional Cloud Architect
At least 3 years experience in a highly regulated environment
At least 3 years practitioner experience with public, cloud technologies (AWS and GCP), cloud tooling, and technical practices
Outstanding interpersonal skills, innovation, and the ability to motivate, inspire, and lead cross group/functional teams with a high degree of independence and success
Solid understanding of KPI and KRI development related to infrastructure operations

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $274,800 - $313,600 for Director, Cyber TechnicalCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
