Summary:
Maintain cardiopulmonary services in accordance with Departmental Director, Federal, State and local standards. Maintaining standards in accordance with the accreditation of Joint Commission of Health Care Organization.
Responsibilities:
Must be able to serve physicians, patients, and their families by being courteous and providing excellent communications skills. Schedules and assigns staff to daily activities to regulate patient flow in the most productive manner. Exhibits knowledge and a basic understanding regarding the needs of neonatal, adolescent, pediatric, adult and/or geriatric patients. Promotes a positive attitude at all times.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Certificate of completion from an American Medical Association accredited Respiratory Therapy Program eligible for admission to the CRT and/or RRT examination of the National Board for Respiratory Care.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
- Competency in various modalities within the CPS department. Experience as a specialist or working group leader. Demonstrates leadership and teaching abilities. Must have experience maintaining and working with budgets. Minimum of 2 years of Supervisory/ leadership experience in a hospital type Respiratory Care setting.
LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION
- Must be licensed by the state of North Carolina as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
- Certified in CPR. Good communication skills to interact with patients, employees, other team members and physicians. Demonstrates a good “Team Leader and have the ability to handle stressful situations properly. Demonstrates commitment to continuing professional development. Possess good computer skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- May be exposed to infectious and contagious disease, blood-borne and airborne pathogens requiring the use of personal protective equipment. Exposure to cleaning agents, chemicals, and some toxic chemicals requires the use of personal protection equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
- May require walking and standing throughout shift. Lifting, pulling and pushing of patients may be required, as well as carrying, pushing, and/or pulling equipment during shift.
