Full Job Description

Summary

The Engineer II role is a professional level position performing routine to moderately complex engineering functions on assigned projects or sub-projects of a general nature and limited scope by applying standard mathematical, physical science, and/or engineering technologies. This professional position could include individuals with experience or a degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Aerospace, and/or Industrial Engineering.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Assists in the design and/or project/process management of new and current projects, products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment under technical guidance of higher-level technical experts.

* Assists in the development of manufacturing or test procedures and performance of routine engineering evaluation tests, product and process capability studies, quality audits, product or project data reviews, and other engineering evaluation work to assure product manufacturability.

* Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for product, test equipment, procedures and/or manufacturing or operating processes that improve productivity and quality.

* Defines and acquires tooling, gauging and other equipment necessary to manufacture or inspect parts to assure product quality.

* Partners and interacts with internal and external stakeholders to assist in resolving routine design, development, production, and acceptance issues.

* Supports evaluation regarding technological advances that improve productivity and quality, reduce flowtime, and enhance operational surety.

* Provides peer mentorship and support when applicable.

You Must Have

* Bachelor of Science degree (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Materials, or Industrial) from an ABET accredited Engineering program or a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from an accredited program.

* Two or more years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities. * Ability to travel up to 20% of the time * Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business

* Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job

* United States Citizenship

* Ability to obtain and maintain, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)

* Prior experience in a manufacturing, production, or quality engineering role

* Demonstrated analytical skills and experience with mathematical computations and computer software applications.

* Demonstrated established technical methodologies to routine engineering projects.

* Ability to analyze engineering drawings and specifications to develop effective acceptance processes and improve existing processes.

* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to influence others to accomplish complex tasks and solve complex technical problems.

* Familiarity with Six Sigma tools and methodology; Six Sigma certification preferred.
