Summary:
Responsible for coordination and supervision of the operations of the radiation treatment team that may include simulation, radiation therapy and staff therapist correct execute special procedural areas, ensuring radiotherapy prescriptions plans.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborates with our Radiation Oncologist and team to promote effective clinical care for all patients.
2. Responsibility for contributing to the development and quality improvement of the Radiation Oncology Program
3. Ensures all daily and weekly quality control and assurance tasks are performed.
4. Audits and amends billing codes to ensure procedural codes are accurate
5. Audits, identifies, and reports unsatisfactory setups to the teammates, Radiation Oncologist, Dosimetrist, Physicist and Management and necessary
6. Responsible for accurate submission of treatment charges. Completes Code Management by reviewing charges as needed
7. Provides input to manager on decision making and problem-solving activities. Provides work direction and scheduling for therapist. Participates in chart rounds and quality improvement teams to achieve targeted results.
8. Evaluates and assesses treatment delivery components by manually performing qualify assurance and quality control check to not divergence from expected reading, detecting equipment malfunctions and taking appropriate action steps.
9. Maintains effective patient scheduling to promote maximum and efficient patient throughput.
10. Effectively maintains clinical supply levels by monitoring levels and ordering supplies and equipment performance as necessary.
11. Develops, reviews, and implements departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
12. Acts as a preceptor/mentor and engages in development activities with new and existing teammates to assist with evaluation and improvement of technical competencies of therapist. Provides developmental feedback to manager/leader. Conducts trainings in response to audit findings, new clinical treatment technique and procedures and environmental needs.
13. Prepares department areas for all regulatory and accreditation surveys/inspections and maintains an environment of continual readiness by consistently auditing for compliance. Partners with leadership to ensure therapist have completed annual requirements, skills day, and notebook comps.
14. Maintains monthly volume and referring practice reporting

Education Requirements:
● Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation accredited education program in Radiologic Technology/Radiation Therapy Program
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy
● Basic Life Support required
Professional Experience Requirements:
● 5 years of experience as a radiation therapist with comprehensive clinical knowledge to include treatment delivery and simulation is required
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
• Read, analyze, and interpret clinical information and technical procedures.
• Document clinical information.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
• Read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
• Effectively communicate information and respond to questions from patients, physicians, family members, and other staff members.
• Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations, and ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
