Job Opportunity: Contract Scientist - Sun Care Technology
Location: Allendale, NJ
Shift: 37.5 hours/week, Monday - Friday (Half day on Fridays, all year)
Hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
Type: Fully Onsite, Hands-On Role
About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Contract Scientist to join our team and support our Future Sun Technology and Package Development initiatives. This role is pivotal in driving research and development in sun care technology, ensuring our products meet the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lab Work: Conduct and manage lab-scale aerosol package filling and testing.
- Testing: Perform physical property and product bulk/propellant ratio combination testing, including spray rate, pattern, and particle size.
- Data Management: Capture critical data and report findings monthly to key stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Maintain communication with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements are met.
- Process Improvement: Identify and report workflow improvements.
- Reporting: Write regular progress and test reports, and provide technical support in meetings.
- Research: Design and execute robust research studies that meet international standards.
- Statistical Analysis: Apply up-to-date statistical analysis procedures for product/process/consumer data.
- Technical Tools: Utilize technical tools for testing and data management (e.g., automated data collection systems, statistical software, Microsoft Office, Product Lifecycle Management).
Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with 3+ years of work experience, or an advanced degree in Science or Engineering (M.Sc. or Ph.D.).
Experience:
- Sun care product development – formulation and packaging protocols.
- Basic understanding of product/process/consumer-based research.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
Skills:
- Ability to frame internal customer needs into actionable studies.
- Project coordination, including design, execution, analysis, and reporting.
- Methodology development, including quantitative and qualitative testing, statistics, and design of experiments.
- Initiative, independent thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and multitasking.
- Effective communication intra and interdepartmentally.
- Good documentation practices.
