Job Description
General Summary:
The Comparative Medicine Training Senior Specialist will provide global training to team members and investigative staff in basic study support techniques, refinement of current models as well as development of novel innovative models in laboratory animals for drug development. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a trainer and the development and implementation of a successful training program.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partners with veterinarians, IACUC Manager, IACUC and principal investigators in all training-related matters
- Understand & identify training needs and partners with key stakeholders to address needs
- Execute the development, implementation and facilitation of training programs and workshops as required
- Design, create and facilitate effective content that address the needs of the skills desired
- Coordinate training sessions, assess trainees, monitor, document and validate training
- Coordinate development of training through a global network of colleagues.
- Provide support and assists in internal/external audits and inspections, as needed
- Supports new approaches, practices and processes to improve the efficiency of training modules
- Follow all local, state and federal regulations as well as company policies and procedures as it relates to the use of animals in research
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proven track record of collaborative work practices, strong oral and written communication as well as interpersonal skills and familiarity with various types of data acquisition and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience facilitating training workshops to small and large groups
- Ability to work on multiple projects that require collaboration across functional areas/sites
- Ability to work and coordinate globally (Project management)
- Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (e.g., on-the-job or e-learning, workshops, simulations, mentoring, etc.)

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Three years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATg) certification
- Pharmaceutical or other related industry experience
- Travel up to 40%
