Full Job Description
Our nonprofit environmental conservation client is looking for a Communications Strategist to join their team! Their ideal candidate is able to come onsite at least 2x/week and their candidacy will be prioritized accordingly. It is mandatory for this role to come onsite at least 4-5x/year along with traveling with C Suite members 1-2x/year for conferences!
This Communication Strategist will be:
- Establishing communication strategies for senior leadership and developing narratives and key messages for events, conferences, social media, and more.
- Collaborating with and building relationships with senior leaders.
- Collaborating with the Director of Communications to create strategies targeting decision-makers, donors, peers, and media.
- Producing written content for the client's website, emails, presentations, opinion pieces, and social media.
- Informing creation of visual content like videos, photos, infographics, presentations and social media.
- Establishing an op-ed strategy that supports program goals and secure placements and speaking engagements.
- Updating and maintaining the client's website with current messaging and content.
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 6+ years in communications and marketing with experience developing strategic plans that meet organizational goals for science and/or conservation.
- Experience creating content across websites, email, presentations, social media, PR, and more.
- Strong understanding of conservation context (plus a willingness to learn).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, report progress, and communicate closely with stakeholders.
- Proficient in Salesforce, Google Suite, and social media platforms.
- Any design skills would be considered a major plus.
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
