The Commercial Logistics Manager is responsible for key commercial components of global management of transportation, logistics and the customer supply chain Corporate wide to achieve the highest value at the lowest cost while maintaining and improving world class levels of customer service and satisfaction. Provides functional direction to all RYAM facilities in North America relative to inbound and outbound transportation and distribution. Scope includes implementing, managing, sustaining, and improving processes to optimize costs and service provided to external and internal stakeholders.
How you’ll shape the future of the Logistics/Sourcing Department:
• Manage commercial relations with export service providers
• Manage some operational aspects of export service providers
• Develop strategies to achieve the highest value in Logistics services
• Negotiate contracts with export service providers with annual spend of $75MM
• Monitor carrier performance and optimize carrier mix
• Will be the subject-matter expert on export logistics markets / service providers
You’ll be someone who can bring:
• Minimum ten year’s experience in ocean transportation
• Knowledge of international logistics
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, with preferred MBA in Transportation Management
• Skilled at negotiations
• Skilled at implementing contracts
• Great working relationships with internal customers and external suppliers
