Position Details: Industry : Telecommunications Job Title : Network Project Manager / Center Engineer Duration : 12 months of Contract (Extension Possible) Location : Halethorpe, MD - 21227 - (Hybrid) Description:
  • Center Engineer needed to drive the deployment of conventional and next-generation core network technologies; including Data, Voice/VoIP, Video, Data Center, Collocations, and the supporting host of network ancillary and infrastructure equipment - Nationwide.

  • In this position, the candidate will be responsible for Center Engineering, which includes Installation Coordination and Vendor Management, for various build initiatives across multiple networks. Candidate must have engineering experience and the ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects. The position requires involvement throughout the life cycle of a build, in particular, to resolve technical issues that may arise. The candidate will utilize Capacity Creation Process (CCP) system, VENUe, Capital Management system, SAP, 1ERP, CoFEE and other internal systems to document or research all technical solutions and ensure a timely deployment of all builds.

  • Candidate will partner with stakeholders to develop project plans, schedules, and records. Resolve issues in a timely manner to ensure internal and external commitments are met. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to recommend enhancements to increase productivity and efficiency. Drive and manage vendor and outsource teams to meet construction timelines. Experience in project coordination is required - Proven ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels: from team members to executive management - Proven ability to negotiate and motivate others - Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills, self-motivation, leadership, and team orientation - Demonstrates analytic, technical, and organizational skills.
Functional Responsibilities Include:
  • Create and/or Understand project-specific installation instructions, engineering database (ICON, CCP) updates, equipment configurations, card/port assignments/requirements, power mapping, cable running lists, floor space, rack placement, and detailed Bill of Material (BOM).
  • Create required Shopping carts or Telephone Equipment Orders (TEOs) to drive the purchase of required equipment and services.
  • Create Project Supplements as required for appropriate financial budget management of build initiatives.
  • Coordinate and drive Engineering issues to resolution.
  • Manage multiple Capacity Creation Requests for new hardware deployments, reconfigurations, decommissions, and First Office Application (FOA) projects.
  • Negotiate and coordinate overall project schedules for Engineering activities, Construction start and completion dates.
  • Accurately identify, monitor, report, escalate, and resolve technical issues encountered throughout the build process.
  • Maintain excellent communication with Project Leads, Functional Team Members and Direct Management to ensure early identification of issues and timely status reporting.
  • Interface with Operations and other Implementation organizations in performing site surveys to obtain critical site-specific engineering data before the build, as well as post-installation redlines and end-of-job audits.
  • Negotiate, coordinate, and drive/track completion of project milestones with all appropriate stakeholders, including third-party turf vendors.
  • Facilitate and maintain relationships with multiple service vendors, including pricing compliance, standards creation, and compliance, and conducting quality reviews - to include follow-up remediation as appropriate and periodic performance reviews.
Skills:
  • 5 or more years in driving cross-functional projects and vendor management
  • Telecom Engineering/Technical experience
  • Installation experience is a plus
  • Experience with capital and expense budgets
  • Effective interpersonal and team-building capabilities
  • Strong project planning and time management
  • Proven track record of leading multiple complex projects to successful completion
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to influence organizational direction and initiatives across all leadership levels
  • Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience with SRM/SAP, CCP, and CANVAS is a plus
  • PMP Certification is a plus.
  • Military experience desired.
