BioLegend (a division of Revvity, Inc.) develops world-class, cutting-edge antibodies and reagents for biomedical research, manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility in San Diego, CA. This position will be an integral member of a team that ensures the highest quality of our finalized antibody products. This position offers the opportunity to gain experience with different types of conjugation chemistries and different chromatography methods to purify antibodies and offers the opportunity to work in small scale and large scale product with utilizing the (Enterprise Resource Planning) ERP database to track production schedules and deadlines. This position will also perform troubleshooting of problematic products, including continuous improvement methodologies for efficiency.

In addition to performing all essential functions related to antibody conjugation, this position is responsible for training other associates, identifying improvement opportunities, conduct problem solving, and drive team projects when needed.

Essential Functions

  • Follow SOPs, batch records, and other compliance-related documentation to ensure adherence to quality and regulatory standards.
  • Perform antibody conjugation with light-sensitive fluorophores, handling both small- and large-scale production processes.
  • Execute conjugation and purification processes using various column chromatography techniques (Size exclusion chromatography, Ion-exchange chromatography, and Affinity chromatography).
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure efficient and effective production.
  • Collaborate with team members to promote a productive and cohesive work environment, ensuring the highest level of quality.
  • Take the initiative to propose and participate in improvement projects and contribute to laboratory safety efforts, including 5s maintenance and sustain.
  • Participate in daily visual management system (QDIPs) to improve overall production performance
  • Exhibit excellent organization and multitasking skills, managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Other projects or responsibilities as may be required.

Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or other related area, Biotech certification, or equivalent work experience in a production environment at least 2 years of working experience in related biotech product development or manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications - Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Biology/Chemistry or related area with less than 1 year of working experience in related biotech product development or manufacturing.
  • Experienced in using UV Monitor
  • Experienced in conjugated antibody
  • Experienced in manufacturing under ISO/GMP environment
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, organized and work well in groups setting
  • Able to perform basic computer operations such as MS Office and Outlook and other computer-based software

The base salary range for this full-time position is 26.44-30.41/hour. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.

Work Environment & Physical Demands - Lab

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. Occasional exposure to a warehouse environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.
