Bridgewater State University's Department of Criminal Justice invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position to begin Fall 2025. The successful candidate will teach a variety of criminal justice courses while contributing to the area of cybersecurity and/or cybercrime at the graduate level. The department seeks a collaborative faculty member who is student-oriented and committed to an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and respects diversity and difference. The ideal candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching, mentoring, scholarship, and service. The Department enrolls more than 500 undergraduate majors, a third of whom are students of color. Along with a B.S. in Criminal Justice, the department houses concentrations in victimology, race and social justice, & youth and juvenile justice, and is home to a vibrant graduate program. BSU's graduate program in Criminal Justice offers an M.S. in Criminal Justice and concentrations in restorative and transformative justice, trauma and victimization, crime and corrections, and administration of justice. Essential Duties
Bridgewater State University has a 4-4 teaching responsibility (most often implemented with a three-course preparation) supported with significant professional development opportunities and guidance. This position seeks an exceptional candidate whose area of specialization is cybercrime or cybersecurity.The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of criminal justice courses, while contributing to the area of cybercrime and/or cybersecurity teaching and learning. Courses are offered during the day and in the evening. Additionally, student advising, service to the department and working with students on undergraduate and graduate research are essential duties.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or Criminology or Cybersecurity by August 31, 2025. Other closely related fields may be considered.A law degree alone does not meet the requirement for the appropriate terminal degree for this position.

Preferred Qualifications
Criminal Justice or Criminology teaching experience in higher education, including hybrid and online teaching formats, is preferred.Preferred areas of expertise include:
Network Security
Cyber Threat Intelligence
Cryptography
Digital Forensics
Cyber-Physical Systems Security
Cloud and IoT Security
Artificial Intelligence in Cybersecurity
Legal, political, and economic issues in Cybersecurity
Industry experience in cybersecurity or digital forensics is a plus
